I took time off the C.C.C to continue with my fund raising efforts at home in 1983. My Journey would take me to a brief stay in New York, a three day orientation at Princeton University at Princeton , New Jersey. A brief stop over in Paris, France ; Cairo, Egypt then finally Khartoum, Sudan. Here I am in 1983, much slimmer from working outdoors 40 hours a day in rain ,snow, heat in Montague, California; Siskiyou Center of the California Conservation Corps. Here I'm back at home, my mothers small apartment.

My Mother and Sister, back in 1983.

My favorite Uncle "Pennard" and his wife Gertrude. She help raise alittle money for my trip to Africa. There both gone now and I loved them both.

My favorite haunts back in 1983; Telegraph Avenue, near the University of California , Berkeley. Back in better days. I didn't know these girls.

Here a good looking girl near the Campus.

Street life near the campus back in 1983.

By this time I had received confirmation that I had been accepted into the Operation Crossroad program. And I was shopping around Berkeley looing for items I needed to get for my trip.
It was out of the frying pan into the fire as I was headed to Princeton ,New Jersey via New York from California. I elected to take a three day bus ride there to orientation at Princeton University.
