Be a Black Athele in America and face jailtime!

Marion Jones was a young black-American female track athlete. She recently admitted to blood doping for her track events, this has cost her dearly. She has to give back Olympic medals, pay back money she won, have her name removed from the record books and may even face jail time. Her career maybe ruined. she's such a young girl. I hope she can take it,show the world what a real athlete you are.

The same thing is happening to another black athlete, Barry Bonds ,formerly of the San Francisco Giants. He broke Henry Aarons home run record, admittedly on Steroids. Bonds was one of the most prolific hitters of all time, Apparently the Government wants to prosecute bonds for lying about his steroid use...so Bonds now faces up to 30 years in prison. He had a great career with the giants and with Baseball , now he's trying to stay out of jail.

All this is a bit mean spirited, though the athletes are in the wrong, everybody in professional sports does blood doping or uses anabolic-steroids at some time in their careers. Just don't admit to using them. its an indictment on the whole system.

Titles taken from Jones

All of Marion Jones’ results dating to September 2000, including her Olympic and world championship titles, were annulled yesterday because of doping.

Track and field’s governing body also told her to return her estimated $700,000 in prize money from that period.

The International Association of Athletics Federation recommended that Jones’ relay teammates be disqualified and lose their medals from the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

The IAAF council also upheld the two-year ban imposed on Jones by U.S. officials. She retired last month after pleading guilty to lying to federal investigators in 2003. Jones admitted she had taken the designer steroid “the clear” from September 2000 to July 2001.

Jones won gold medals in the 100 meters, 200 and the 1,600-meter relay in Sydney, as well as bronzes in the 400 relay and long jump. At the 2001 worlds, she won the 200 and the silver medal in the 100.

Jones returned her five Olympic medals and agreed to forfeit all results dating to Sept. 1, 2000. But it’s still up to the IAAF and International Olympic Committee to change records and revise the medals.
