....Bad Tooth cont.

The story up till now. My Tooth is still unrepaired. After shopping around for a Dentist, I decided to go back to U.C.S.F Dental school again. They seem to have the best deal ,seems to me the Dental students are well supervised. Though I think they program is designed for people with some kind of Dental insurance. Plus I have to get a comprehensive medical exam with cleaning "Costing almost 200.00".. before these people will put a crown on a tooth.

Before I could get a Comprehensive exam I first had to get an "Dental Assessment". That only cost 11.00. I already went to that, the Student Dentist was real nice. Should be if they know you may be spending alot of money in there Dental school, The Student Dentist did say my teeth weren't that bad, then he describe someother patients who had bad teeth/general health, but he told me I could expect to pay a couple of thousand dollars in repairs. I can expect long delays till I here from a student dentist about an appointment for a dental exam. But I choose U.C.S.F rather than going to a regular dentist ( Which could be more expensive),cause really I need the dental exam as I have other dental probelms other than the chipped 1st Molar.

The worse part though, I was denied medical coverage from MEDI-CAL,So I'm going to have to pay for this out of poctket, is I can come up with the money, at this time at least i'm still working.

here Why I was denied "Med-Cal" Byt the way "Medi-cal" is supposed to be a state sponsored program providing a sort of health( State), for people in the state of California who otherwise couldn't afford it. But Apparently there are conditions.

Here's why I was denied...

"Based on the information availible to us, you are a medically Indigent Adult. A medically Indigent Adult is a person between the ages of 21 and 65 who is not totally disabled or blind, not pregnant, not living in a long-termcare or intermediate care facility or not living with a child who meets CalWorks deprivation requirements.

The medi-cal program is prohibitied by State law from providing medical services to medically indigent Adults. However,if you should have a medical need which you cannot afford, you may be eligible for health care at a Alameda County health facility
( Highland Hospital is one)......

Also Your application for Medi-cal dated 02-26-2008 has been denied because you are not eligible for any of the following programs:

Medically needy program for a family with a child whose parent(s) is/are absent from the home, deceased, incapacitated, unemploymend, or working with limitied earnings....
OR
Medically Needy program for the Aged, blind or disabled.
OR
Medically Indigent program for pregnant women.
OR
Medically Indigent program for persons under age 21.
