"Based on the information availible to us, you are a medically Indigent Adult. A medically Indigent Adult is a person between the ages of 21 and 65 who is not totally disabled or blind, not pregnant, not living in a long-termcare or intermediate care facility or not living with a child who meets CalWorks deprivation requirements.
The medi-cal program is prohibitied by State law from providing medical services to medically indigent Adults. However,if you should have a medical need which you cannot afford, you may be eligible for health care at a Alameda County health facility"( Highland Hospital is one)......
Also Your application for Medi-cal dated 02-26-2008 has been denied because you are not eligible for any of the following programs:
Medically needy program for a family with a child whose parent(s) is/are absent from the home, deceased, incapacitated, unemploymend, or working with limitied earnings....
OR
Medically Needy program for the Aged, blind or disabled.
OR
Medically Indigent program for pregnant women.
OR
Medically Indigent program for persons under age 21.
For all I can tell i was denied because, I'm not blind, I'm not over 65, I'm not pregnant nor do I live in a nursing home, I'm not under 21. I might be medically needy but I do not qualify for medical because I'm not an out-of-work, Missing parent with kids.
I checked with Michael Moore's Website "Sicko" he's trying to making some changes in America health care. For one, how about Universal Health Care for all (Medi-Cal) for U.S Citizens. I think Mr.Moore knows something.
Here's Part of the bill moore is trying to get passed.
