A merchant in Omdurman. I visitied him many times. He didn't have much to sell just some Ivory products (which was banned in the United States),souvenirs made of bone, wood and Lizard skin. It was really hard to find anything else made by the artisans of this culture in these shops...unless you really look around. In fact if you look around in the United States you can find better souvenirs made in Africa. Than in some of these places at the time in my opinion.

Welcom to luxurious, Omdurman. A sort of people's market setting.

Another group dinner. Kieran and Kimberly Knox (on the right, Lauren banner on the left) doesn't look to happy, maybe it was the food. ( I think Kieran is a Pediactric doctor now, he seemed like a nice guy then, so good for him.) I thought the food at these dinners were great, just like home. I'm African-American (Descendant of slaves as they say). The food there was like chicken liver and sauce over rice, with bread butter and tea, with lots and lots of sugar. They fed us like kings ,maybe they heard we Americans like sugar.
