Payback at Crack Central

Cont......Anyway I was able to find a couple of people to make a statement in my behalf to the investigator for my case, one's name was a case worker name "Billy" then another long time desk clerk who worked here at the Oaks Hotel, a girl named "Jackie" actually came up to me and said "Boy do I have stuff to tell you".

I don't believe these people gave compelling evidence to the investigator. I tried to claim that there was a type of sexual harassment going on here against me..how else do you say, when you rent a room at a hotel who's management then seems to have a policy of whoring you? But this was going to be hard to prove without collaborating evidence..I don't believe my witnesses where going to do that, and I didn't have much physical evidence showing any kind of sexual harrassment. This all you had to do was stand or sit in the courtyard here and listen to what the tenants and street people where saying. But the investigator wanted specific names ,dates and occurrences etc . All my evidence mostly showed was that there were friction between me and the tenant in #711 and this was over a a stereo, and noise complaints ( had resulted in me being thrown in jail), run -ins with the police ... I say that this developed into sexual harassment by the tenant in 711, besides , NO ONE did anything regarding my complaints here, the police would do nothing..I guess the guy in 711 felt he could get away with stuff..

Two witnesses though was something and I believe there was many more people who could have provided interesting stories to the investigator, desk clerks of the past, Monique, Jennifer Phillips, Property Manager Randi Bakker for example. I began to get pessimassic about my case, wondering if they were going to close my case cause of inconclusive evidence. At this point I made a mistake by NOT getting extra legal help. At this point a lawyer might have been helpful here, but I didn't have much money..But it would have been great to get legal help that's looking out for MY interests.

Then one day, I was getting calls from the investigator..Seems that the management had decided to make a deal, they were going to let me move to another room. An agreement had been reached. There were also other conditions the management agreed to..That didn't relate directly to me. It was that management had to disseminate materials to tenants concerning anti-discrimination laws.. and that management here had to take a workshop in anti-discrimination laws by the State of California. In my case the agreement said that the Hotel would have to find me another room a reasonable distance away from #711.. And that the Hotel had a certain time to do this . It didn't really state if I had a choice in what rooms to take, or if I could actually abide in the room the Hotel choose for me. It was the worst of all possible conditions , but I signed the agreement cause basically I was afraid it was all I was going to get.
Some wiseguy I was eh?

This is where I should have had a lawyer negotiating for me. I signed the paper because the investigator assured me that I was getting what I basically wanted..A change of rooms away from the idiot in #711. I been in the hotel long enough to feel confident about the people here in the Hotel and what rooms I might have to take... And it was basically what I was aiming for. It was the point of my initial protest, to see if I could get the management to change my room after some desparate tries..And IT WORKED! I guess for this I could be a little proud..I learned something on that day..How to create a little social change. A valuable lesson in civil 101, but I seemed to have funked the course..Everything else has fallen about the wayside.

What I really needed here was some justice. These people here at this hotel have done damage to my reputation, adversely affected my employment, threatened my well -being I am going to need more than a change of rooms, unfortunately the investigator didn't advocate for any further prosecution of this hotel, and at the signing of the agreement I signed a considerable number of rights away..like I cant file a civil complaint in a court of law in about this case .....but the state will audit /look into whether or not the hotel has honored its agreement. Perhaps the Hotel has honored the agreement in letter but not in spirit, as I am still being harassed by other tenants, place in a Very nice room, but a noisy location, at this point I have given the hotel 30 days notice...and I am worried about my continued employment with my Job, and I fear for my personal well being and for my relatives in the area ..as some of these drug dealers types about there might actually retaliate against me or people in my family for leaving this Hotel. They need someone else now to punk him. So they may retailiate against me.
